^ haha. You need to take the rear drum off, check the linings and wheel cylinders. clean it adjust it. then adjust the cable. easy enough if you fairly competent on the spanners. haynes manual should ... |

you dont have to take the lower arm out, its easier to lower the subframe ( not on the floor, just unwind the bolts 3/4 of the way) then use a big bar to pop it out. being careful on the drivers side ... |

400 quid doesnt seem unreasonable. esp for a main dealer who usually charge a silly amount. iirc the book time for a 180 cambelt it around 4 hours. so slightly longer for the water pump etc. if thats ... |

the c.v joint shouldnt affect gear selection. as above check your levels and linkage. the linkage usually wears quite badly. if the clutch isnt clearing fully that may cause selection issues. take it ... |

when the heater is set to hot. behind the dash a flap diverts the blown air over a warm radiator. ( making it warm air ) when switched off it channels the air away keeping it cold. you can use a/c and ... |

if your confident with the spanners, get a haynes manual and its doable. the 8v is probably the easiest to work on out of all the engines.im sure there is probably plently of other guides etc online. ... |

you could try taking it to a garage to get it sniff tested ( tested with a gas analyser for fuel in the coolant basically. is the cooling system heavily pressurised after running? a haynes manual woul ... |

as above, sometimes if the slave cylinder isnt clamped off when its disconnected from gearbox the piston can pop past the seal. not always doing permenant damage but would deffo need re bleeding. is t ... |
