you dont have to take the lower arm out, its easier to lower the subframe ( not on the floor, just unwind the bolts 3/4 of the way) then use a big bar to pop it out. being careful on the drivers side ...

if your confident with the spanners, get a haynes manual and its doable. the 8v is probably the easiest to work on out of all the engines.im sure there is probably plently of other guides etc online. ...
