Hi - thanks for the quick reply

Its 108 000 miles - car is only worth 300, so if fixable I'd rather try to keep costs down !

Any chance it is something simple?

Confused

Evening all!

Has anyone seen my fifth gear!?!

For a few hundred miles my 1999 1.6 fifth gear kept popping out when off throttle - then when doing 70 ish on the M5 the gearbox made a whirr ...
