Riiight, so your selling this to buy 2 cars basically? Thats a shame that is, you've done a lot of work with this one.

You reckon you'll get many takers on the VX boards?

Well I'm looking forward to the next project thread mate I've found this one fascinating, mainly because I have as little to do with the "scary lid" as possible on my motor!

Most of them have said between 12 and 14 grand, so start at 14, go from there really. And considering there are only about 30 S/C'd cars worldwide I'm confident it will sell in about a week or two if I put it up.

I'm going to sell this, buy a proper crapper at a couple hundred quid, insure it for peanuts, and buy another N/A VX when a good model comes up that I like. Then things will go from there I hope!

I already have a Europa Blue N/A I could buy if I wanted to.

At least that might be the plan at the moment. We shall see. If I get a taker she'll be gone fairly quick.

Why sell yours after all the effort and time you've put into it though only to buy another one?

Because a standard N/A will cost me about 8k, and a shed would be no more than 1.5k to buy and insure, hopefully less, so I'd be about 4k up realistically. And that's what I'll have to help me live off. Can't afford to keep the VX maintained, costs about £180 a month for insurance/tax/MOT/oil/wear and tear.

A shed would cost nowhere near that, and if it did I'd probably just get rid of it tbh.

What happened to the Golf, Seb?

Obviously I'm gutted you're selling-up, after such great fun at Kemble.
Must been heartwrenching to sell it Sad

The Golf belongs to my girlfriend's dad, I could in theory either use the polo, or buy a car with my brother and share that, and just take the VX off the road until I can afford it again.

Get yourself a real car like a 205 or a 309 and supercharge a gti-6 engine in one of them instead? Razz

Running costs will be high in this, but surely in the long run keeping this or putting it back to standard and keeping the s/c kit to put on your next car will be more cost effective?

Psht. Useless.

I will keep it if I can.

Took 1 out of the 3 camber shims out of the front wheels for now, will see how it performs during the first few sessions, then possibly take another out on the day and see what difference it makes.

I will match that and raise it by adding a new shiny paper clip! Laughing

I can see the reasons behind selling it Seb, atleast getting a banger should be easier to find with the scrapage scheme gone.

I wonder why I bother with this place, 4 years and all members do is slag each other off. Even Barry Boys seems a nicer place at times...
