The 21mpg is WOT or 0 on the road blasting we do.

They're completely different engines, bit like comparing apples with bananas

If you only have £4k to spend i'm guessing you need to keep the running costs low too, in which case i would stay well clear of turbo'd cars that have a far few miles on them, stick to something simple, the last thing you want after spending £4k is another grands worth of repairs. I stick by my orginal suggestion of a CTR if your feeling chavvy (nothing wrong with them, although they do look a little like a mark 2 megane scenic) or dare to be different and get a corolla tsport, once you have driven one you'll know what i mean, not quite as quick as a CTR (only just!) but loads more toys, better on fuel, cheaper to run, cheaper to insure and much more of a surprise when you go past them
This 206 IS going on a trackday despite it's every effort to stay at home in the garage!

a 180 would feel different to drive but would look the same as utimately it is still a pug 206. Integra Type R, CTR, Cupra R all good. get test driving! Smile Turbo'd cars as said here would def be expensive on insurance, maintance and petrol. something to look forward to in the future maybe. good luck car hunting

Not when you put in £70 of fuel and get 150 miles to a tank. Great fun and very grippy, but the fuel and oil consumption is crazy

Yeah it's just OP said mid thread that fuel eco wasnt an issue as he was getting a lift to work (or something along those lines).

Just thought I'd throw something out there. Smile

Not a fan of Golfs, & 150bhp is a bit low.
Cupra R is a little pricey.
Integra is impractical.

I'm now looking into Civic type R's, seem to be good for the money & miles.

Mk4 GTI would be nice if you got the 25th Anniversary edition but they usually have high miles for the money you have.

Since one over took me, flicked up a stone and chipped my windscreen I've hated them with a passion! Laughing
