Painting is finished Very Happy Unfortunately i wouldn't have had time to do this properly as i'm working this evening. I just made sure the area was well masked (tin foil was a brilliant choice in some areas) and sprayed what i could! It looks miles better though. The tip at the very least needed a good freshen up.

Cheers folks Smile

Well there's 4 different classes! Concours standard and modified, show and shine standard and modified, so show and shine standard winner was a very mint CTI i think it was green? Not henry yorkes but a bit like it. The guy that won concours had a mint 1.9 205 gti in miami blue i think!

I'm waitin on peeps posting up their pictures so i can point them out to people that ask the same question.

The exhaust is just halfords high temp silver spray paint.

Yup...the project will continue and my OCD is kicking in quite nicely! My next expensive job is to get the wheels done, i'll be getting all 5 done so that the underside looks tidy with a mint spare wheel on it too.

Depending on funds the engine might well be coming out or at least just the inlet manifold and anciliaries so i can paint it the block etc. I'll see how that one goes.

Well i thought i was going to get a few months break with this project but something's cropped up all in one day!

Last week i sent away a front chrome moulding to a certain trim/extrusion manufacturing company. I got a letter today with a sample of what they can offer that is their closest find/match to what the goodwood trim is like and here it is:

It's also bendy and bendy is good! Very Happy Wink :-B :-bd *anker

An hour later i got a phone call from Mr Peugeot Kirkcaldy: "We've got your rear chrome molding strip here" So i went to collect it with my 10% discount which was put under "309 owners club official" Which was close enough to the real name for me! So anyone in FIFE....go to Kirkcaldy Peugeot garage, you'll get discount! Very Happy

so i'm in a dilemma. Do i replace the side and rear trim with this replica shizzle or do i hold out for the opposite side in mint condition or better still - brand new!

Likewise I've wondered if it's possibly to use 2 of the same side trims to do both sides? I realise 1 edge is angled but once behind the bumpers and it's all fitted how much of each side is hidden by the bumper itself?? I just wonder if i could get away with it Wink

So...the radio i bought turned out to be a no-go after being sold a duffer (seller shall remain nameless but been told that this person hasn't been the best of people to buy stuff from in the past...)

Anyway...I bought another original radio for her for £15 delivered from a guy up in Perthshire who says i can return it if it doesn't work. I just need to get it decoded and i'm sorted and i'll do this on Friday. I now know my wiring is fine as the kenwood radio from the miami worked without fuss using the red-block connector > iso Smile So fingers crossed i shouldn't have to worry about this any more come Friday!

Aye it was good to get a wee prize! It just shows up how "average" a normal clean looking car can look when up against the real hardcore enthusiasts though. I'll get there one day although it will take a fair few years, but once it's to that standard it's just maintaining it Smile

I hope to update the thread showing the bumper before and after too...i think it's going to be a pig of a job.
