I'm kinda going to hijak this, but in the hopes that it helps you, aswell as me.

I have been thinking about the same, making my car a bit quicker, and I know I will get told to get rid of the 17" which I will once I can afford to lower it.

I contacted someone about having a mani put on and I was told to be careful as after market manis, stainless steel ones, have a tenancy to crack.

Is that true?

I would also say you need a stainless steel catback.

I was also thinking about getting a sports cat, but I was told this wasnt possible because my cat is attached to the down pipe/mani(?).

Is that the same with yours?

All stainless can crack, but they dont very often if they are made right.

Ahh right, didn't know that. I was looking at the Raceland 4-2-1 Manifold.

If you think about it, if you have an aftermeerkat exhaust that will most likley be stainless, has that ever cracked?

Im not sure if it is attached the mani or not. Go under the car and check should be easy to see.

No, but it hasn't been on there very long.

@juan yeah the mani is on the down pipe however you can fit a saxo vts mani to yours and that would allow the cat to be under the car not on the down pipe same with a 421 mani iirc. and yes i have an XR3i Very Happy

i have stainless stell backbox and the center section is next with stainless steel.

Intercoolers are used on turbo / supercharged engines, not a N/A TU lump Razz

Thanks Dan.

I'm looking at either the Raceland or the Supersprint manifold.

The Superprint one is alot more, but it's supposed to be worth it.

Looking at the picture of the manifolds, it looks like the cat would be moved under the car. Which would then allow me to get a sports cat or de-cat (am I allowed to say that Rolling Eyes )

They are better flowing than normal cats and if you get pulled by VOSA you wont get bummed for having one.

further to my shout.... from wikipedia
"A DOHC 16 valve version of the TU3 with variable valve timing was introduced in 2005 with the Peugeot 307. However, this version was named ET3, possibly as a prelude for the new PSA/BMW Prince engine family."

So would you just go for a standard cat or de-cat (De-cat is not legal for road use, im talking about track use!) Very Happy
