Hello,

I am just deciding on a new head unit for my 2001 206 GTi. I think i would like to go down the route of having an ipod/mp3 device permanently in the glove box which connects to the back of the head unit.

I am a complete novice on the internals of the 206, is it possible to route a wire from the back of the head unit to come out of the hole I can see in the top of the inside of the glove box ?

Has anyone had any experience ?

Thanks
rich

Yep there's a little hole in the top of the glovebox I had my iPod in there when I had my old Alpine x-305.

Hi,

I have seen the hole in the glove box, i just wondered how you managed to steer the cable through to the hole ? It seems quite a way to direct a floppy cable.

Thanks

In my van mine goes from hu behind dash and out air vent on drivers side to my phone holder using normal iPod wire. With plenty spare. Would be similar distance in yours.

Not sure if you're interested but I have a Kenwood Head Unit, and a Kenwood iPod adaptor on eBay at the moment that might fit your requirements.

was a bit of a pain but all i did was take to headunit out and the plastic thats at the side of the dash you can see it when you open the pass door and pushed the wire through the headunit sid and grabbed hold through the other side and put it through the hole in the glovebox lol seems abit of messing but couldnt get the glovebox out Laughing

I did it without taking out the glovebox too, just take the radio out, put one end of the wire through and stick your fingers through the whole in the top of the glovebox. Wiggle it about a bit until you can feel it and hey presto.
