There is a GTI gear knob on a car at the scrappers which i can not get off for the life in me. I think it may have been glued on. how easy is it just to take the whole stick itself?
also while I am at it how do I remove the glovebox lid? I am taking the full interior out of the car

Just pull it, maybe twist and pull.
Never taken glovebox lid off, but I've definitely read how to do it on here several times.

Just pull it and mind your face when you do
I had to have my lip stitched lol
Glove box you undo the troxs on hinge and then unhook them and the bar thing (unsure what the bar bits called)

If it still hasnt worked for you mate, if u just wanna remove the gear knob. Secure it at the lowest point, then use some big pliers around the bottom of the gear knob and just hammer the pliers, the whole knob should slide off the pole, including the white plastic bit inside! Thats how i did mine!

Depends on what you wanna do, if u just want the knob off, u can do it from inside the car, just some big pliers (cant remember what they called) around the bottom of the gearknob, and smash the pliers with the hammer and itll slide off, this is actually the best way, because a lot of people twist and turn it, and then they end up breaking the white plastic bit.
