I got my car on 12th September, and i still havent got a log book through!! is it normal for it to take this long? i swapped cars also and already sent my log book off ages ago! when we done the deal he didnt have the log book for me to sign..he signed mine and all i got was the green slip and a written receipt, he said thats all i need but im beginning to think im a car down!! not good!

he should be filling in his part that belongs to the car you now have.There is a bit that you need to fill in and send off i think,called new registered keeper.

yeah i sent the new keeper part off a month and a half ago...i think i may have been bumped off!! lol

Dont worry took them about 6-7 weeks to mine..
To ring the seller make sure hes done it.
If he has ring the dvla

And that was for the gt? Or your old car?

Then he will get the log book for the old car and youll get a letter telling you that you no longer own the car.He should send off exactly what you have but you should get the log book for the gt.Id be ringing him as legally he still owns the gt.If he starts to be a d**k then id get a couple of mates to go round to his with you to hget what you need.If he doesnt come good then go through speed cameras at twice the speed till he gets it sorted.

If you didnt fill in and sign part of the V5 for the car youve bought then you wont get a new one.
Give him a call to make sure but otherwise youll need to go to the post office, get the right form, its number V something IIRC and then fill that out and send it off with the green slip.

hes all the way up in birmingham! if its scam where he has a spare key and decides to pay the car a little visit and take it off the drive then he'll have a shock because i moved and the car is locked up on private land elsewhere!! cant find his number, found the little receipt he worte me, ill give dvla a call. good idea about the speed cameras!! lol but i do think ill give it a miss, is tempting lol
