Hey guys, I've just colour coded my bump strips and now my door handles now look so far out of place it's ridiculous.

I've managed to pick up one colour coded handle and I'm going to respray the other side but I have no idea how to remove them/ install new ones.

Any sort of help or picture guide would be really really appreciated.

Thanks all.

Think it's riveted on, not done it myself but i think you have to take the door card off and drill out the rivets, then rivet the new one back on

yh as said above, lift the door handle up and drill the two rivets out, then re-rivet back on. tbh if you can get the car in a garage some ppl have just sprayed them while on the car

Well, I had a feeling I'd read it was riveted on, I have absolutely no experience riveting so im a bit stuck there.

I would try doing it on the car but I've only got a normal, car sized garage not one with any type of working area, I struggle to get out the car when I've parked in there lol.

Hmm, not sure of my next move... ...

Gazeebo? Go buy one of those cheapo gazzebos with the sides and make you own spray shop inside it?

Mate of mine did it with scaffolding and tarpooling. Just make sure you make it wind tight and you have a perfect workshop that you can take down when not needed

I changed mine about a year ago. Take off the door card, peel back the liner, unclip the handle, drill out the rivets with a small drill bill (like 2mm), pull out the handle. Putting a new one on is the reverse. Just buy a cheap riveter from ebay with rivets. Simples.

thanks guys. I would love to have a mini spray shop in the garden but i've already sprayed most of my bigger parts on the car, and also the garage isnt next to the house with a driveway its just round the corner from the house, leaving up a gazebo round the car is asking for the pikeys to come and explore lol.

Well that doesnt sound too tricky to rivet, may well have to have a go myself when i can get hold of another exterior handle.

And have some scrotum simply unscrew them to gain entry to your car?

Just get something like this Clicky. Try a couple of rivets out 1st on a piece of wood or spare metal so you know the size to use before you drill them out.

Follow this to remove your door cards. You'll need to have the window up though to get to the back of the handle.

The entire job, including taking off the door trim takes like 10 mins per side, if that.
