Did you say you are doing a respray anyway? Can't believe it has been painted so shitly didn't think anyone was that stupid.

hopfully thats the plan yes, this white paint is so flakey so taking it off to get down to good base.

can see if anything is hidden under that white paint too.

You will probably have to I doubt you could get the blue looking nice if it's had that s**t all over it.

Out of interest how is the thinners getting the white off, and not the blue?

Respect you for this challenge as well, I thought you meant sport bumpers and SP crap project Laughing

well the smooth door locks, smoothed aerial will have filler around them so paint will be naff round them i would think, dunno,

i dunno the white comes off so easy with the thinner on, no effort once it gets going. then i just wash it down to get all the residue off.

next door has some in his garage so we tried it.

Ah fair enough, looks rough as hell. Who would even attempt to do that with such little knowledge Confused

im a bit iffy with paint work / body work etc will have help,

but the maniacal side im ok with that Laughing so far Laughing

will all be good! we know it will need a full respray wso doesnt really matter what the thinners will do to the china blue underneath so long as it leaves a solid area to prime over.....

wow! rear arches being rolled up isnt a problem ben. need to check whats under the filler considering how shoddy the paint has been put on.... the china blue is looking good tho..... careful using thinners on the plastics as it can melt them.

true door locks have just filler in them, and boot has expanding foam.

boots a fibreglass panel then...... expanding foam to fill the void is ok. door locks idealy want welding up. ariel hole wants welding up. perfect world the boot wants welding smooth aswell.... all can be done using fibreglass and filler, but just filler is a no no.

Looking better.

What could I use to just remove lacquer? Or blend new lacquer in?
