hey guys,

wondering if one of you can show me where the fan switch is on my car, its a 206 gti preplex.

basiclly the fan is not cutting in when the engine gets to hot and when the AC is turned on.

have checked all the fuses and they are ok, have unplugged and cleaned all conections that i can see going into or around the fan and it still wont work.

done abit digging on google and found that it could be the fan switch but i have no idea where it is !!

pics would be great guys,

thanks,

Karl.

There is no switch. When the ECU sees the coolant temp above a certain level it tells the fan to switch on via a couple of relays.

Behind the front bumper there is a removable panel. This covers the relays and they can get a bit crusty.

You can see the panel to the left of the fan. Picture doesn't seem to be working...no idea why.

Thats the first thing you need to do. If you have no power to the fan then you know you have a wiring/relay problem.
If you do get power then its the fan.
Its pointless just changing sensors without diagnosing the problem properly.

The one Edward is talking about is likely to be corroded. Well one of the wires anyway. It will have undoubtedly turned to green dust. Smile

Pretty safe bet it being corroded relay terminals - or a dead fan.

Just take the upper grille off. That will get enough access to get to the mushroom plugs.
