Still there is a lot of filler there....

even tho they maybe a thin layer of filler is quite a mass area and with time it could crack and i think you may be able to see it?

Well with that much filler it will crack and start to sag over time as it takes in water.

Whenever u watch wrecks to riches usa or the show with the old pimp my ride team ( weat coast customs) or the one with edd china on discovery they nigh on cover the whole car in filler and sand it all back down, is that not the norm? I always assumed that was how it was done.

looks good alex. dont worry about what everyone is saying regarding the filler. it looks like they're doing a good job of the repair. it is unlikely to crack or sag if they've use the correct filler for the job (they're not using p38 from halfords) and looks like they're using a good stopper over the top. a strong 2k primer will also help seal it all in a prevent sagging. water getting in shouldnt be an issue as it should all be sealed by the lacquer.

TBH that looks like quite a good job. If it's only a thin layer of filler it's unlikely to take in enough water to make it sag... that's what paint and laquer are for.

I'd be interested to know how anyone criticising it would get that damage smoothed without using a lot of filler Rolling Eyes

Why the hell would you go to all the hassle and cost of putting a whole new rear quarter on it when you can do a perfectly adequate and long lasting repair for less than half the cost??

wouldnt put a new panel on it, you'd write it off with that damage if you didnt do it this way. new panel is too much hastle and too costly
