Just went out in my lunch break and noticed my 206 was poor on acceleration. Also when i try to accelerate and when i get into 3/4000 rpm and above it starts to make a whistling sort of sound, which i notice the most when im accelerating in 4th gear..
To get an idea of the sound it makes imagine a belt spining and getting worn away? a kind of light whistling sound.
Any help would be great,

when its out of gear it is normal. also when i have the clutch in and accelerate it is normal and doesnt make the sounds. its only when im in gear and the clutch is up.

don't think its the thrust bearing as i had a whole new clutch about 2 months ago, also i thought it was the thrust bearing when its made a noise when clutch is up even when in neutral. my problem is u only start to here the squealing at about 3-4000 rpm. and its made the acceleration on the car poor. :s
