Hi all looking for advice/info. I have a 1.4 roland garros, the rev guage drops to zero pretty much all the time and its drinking loads of petrol (Worked out to be around 20-25 MPG)
So far i have replace/changed EPS ICV, And then the throttle body.
Still no joy been service twice within the last 12000 miles including new plugs.
has anyone got any tips/pointers of what to replace next?
Any help would be great Thanks Chris.

EDIT. The temp guage dont even reach 80 D when driving but does go upto 90 when in traffic. Thats not normal is it?

Have you had it read for fault codes?
What plugs did you put in at the service?
Is it just the gauge that drops, or does the engine try to stall itself?

The temp gauge is pretty much normal. My 1.4 does the same. Fan kicks in about 90.

Fualt codes were read. Came back with a injector issue they said put injetor cleaner through it.
But i replaced the injectors last year as one was knackered.
NGK were the plugs that i used? It'll sit at 800rpm then just drop like a stone no stalling involved Also my rev counter needle sticks so it'll stick up on the 2000rpm mark then i will have to turn off/on/off/on ignition to get it back to normal?
there's another thing that i found was when i turn the window wipes on full with the engine running they slow down to pretty much a stop?
Again any advice pointers would be great.

NGK plugs are not compatible with pug 206's they are known for causing loads of issues like you describe, change them Smile
Please Dont take any of my posts as written fact. They are simply my opinion and although to the best of my knowledge true, the information within them may well be incorrect.

Any work you undertake as a result of my posts is done so at your own risk Smile

What He Said and hope they haven't done more damage.

Did the codes get read after you changed the injectors?
What make of injectors did you fit?
It's all well and good putting injector cleaner through, but that's no guaruntee that it will solve the issue if the solenoid inside the injector is faulty.
Have you tried fuelling with premium fuel like Shell. I buy Asda fuel for 3 tanks then fill with Shell v-power for 1 tank just to give the engine a clean.

Does the rev counter start to drop and the car start to die when you put the wipes on?

Right today i have took of the inlet manifold checked it over for holes/cracks and nothing... Also checked EVERY vacume pipe in the bay still no joy. I'm pretty sure i had this issue when I had bosch spark plugs in so I dont think its the plugs but will change them just to tick it off.
Anyone else got any advice/pointers of what i could try next? Thanks Chris..

Have had issues with mine.

Contact cleaner mag sensor, throttle body inside and out and all the plugs onto the throttle body. See if it helps but revs dropping on 206's is a very common fault and there has never been a definitive answer as to what the route cause is.

206 Gti - will fill this on later as cba atm lol
