Hey !
Basically my gears are very bad and clunky and I have lots of trouble getting 1st when slowing down for roundabouts etc. It feels like im having to literally find the gear sometimes when going into 5th. Reverse is a nightmare (double pumping it a lot).
Ive had the problem for months but around march time the gears went really funny whilst i was maneuvering and i literally couldn't get into any gears at all and the gearstick went REALLY heavy.
I've left the problem for a while due to funds but what i want to know is, Is it definately the gearbox going or gone? Or could it just be linkages or something else?
Its pushing 104k miles now
Thanks in advance

Try learning how to drive correctly first before blaming the gearbox

You shouldnt be trying to select 1st gear when the car is moving
No wonder your gearbox is playing up if thats how you treat it

Alot have cars don't like ging into 1st from 2nd when still moving try stoping in 2nd then put it in first. Also could be worn gearbox mounts/rubbers/selector/links etc ect.

My car has never liked going into 1st while moving so i don't do it also she has always had issues with reverse but that's 206's for ya really.
Double clutch to get in reverse and come to a halt or 2 mph to change down to 1st.
The car has been like this since 32k miles and its now above 80k and still the same no worse.
My wife's picasso and my 406 coupé also do it.
