Hi folks,

I was messing around with the wiring in my headunit which somehow caused the battery to go off, when I turn with the key, the battery light does not illuminate. I don't think my battery is dead... what's the method of turning it on? It doesn't even illuminate with ignition.

Battery turned off? Laughing

You've probably blown a fuse or fried the BSI.

I think I was being stupid to mess around with the wiring while the battery was on, I tried getting it right for a change but it got worce. Can someone tell me what and where the fuse is? My head unit has in fact blown multiple fuses, something is seriously not right here.

I will return to garage and tell them it's blown again... and now because the battery is not working, it revs more while turning on engine.

why is this getting so common!? you should never mess around with the wiring when the battery is still plugged in, the electrics are so sensitive,

"and now because the battery is not working, it revs more while turning on engine."

if the battery is not working you wont be able to turn on the engine lol, you have probably blown some fuses, check the fuze box by

1. unplugging the battery, corretly shutdown the BSI if the car needs it
2. pull each fuze out and check that its good and not blown and replace it if needs be

(dont pull fuzes when the cars live, it can cause a huge amount of damage)

if all of the fuzes are good, correctly boot up the bsi (if you car is multiplexed) and hope that everything is all good (if it still isnt working correctly you could have a bill for £1k plus for a new BSI,

if its just the headunit thats not working it might be faulty and blowing the fuzes

Please Dont take any of my posts as written fact. They are simply my opinion and although to the best of my knowledge true, the information within them may well be incorrect.

Any work you undertake as a result of my posts is done so at your own risk Smile

You can't turn a battery on or off Rolling On The Floor Laughing check the fuse box under the drivers side one has probably blown, also check the one in the engine bay.

Basically because the 206 is now an extreemly affordable car, younger and less knowledgeable people (You know what I'm really saying) are starting to buy them, thinking there cool, and inevitably trashing them by driving at speed through a local halfords store, whilst trying to 'fix' their electrical problems with the battery terminals still connected..
