Anyone fitted a short shifter to their cars?

I just feel the gears are too long to change between in the GTi Sad

Quite a few member's have them fitted including me, Some have taken battery tray to gain access but the member that did mine managed to do it under the car. Although he did have some scrape's after. I believe some people say the Griffiths model is no good for the GTI and have gone for other make's. But I do believe it make's all the difference. A garage wouldn't charge too much to fit it so the best bet is too ask your local one to see what they would charge.

I don't rate the Griffiths for the GTi at all.

Spoox Motorsport do one, as do Ecosse.

The Griffiths is about £10 cheaper, but its not worth the risk of a replacement gearbox.
There's been 3 or 4 people on here with damaged gearboxes due to them.
