doing cambelt kit on 1.4lx petrol,looking at haynes it says to remove ecu.will it cause a problem if left in place.any help appreciated thanks.

Chances are with the ECU in place you might not have enough space to access the cambelt.

Saxo electric PAS pump, Vibra Technics engine mounts. Samco coolant hoses, TTV steel flywheel, 4.76 final drive ratio, 307 CC 180 ratios. 2019 BMW 530i. 2017 Mercedes C300 convertible.

i never removed the ecu when i done the cambelt on my 1.1 . once you remove the cambelt caseing. you have enough room
if it dont scuff the ruff it aint low enuf

Tbh on a 1.4 you might not have to move it but if you find you need just move it out the way a little it's no big deal

thanks for info guys, ecu will stay put.not a big deal to move it but tamper proof fixings on mine were a pita,especially if there's no good reason to move it.hanyes book of bs for sure. Smile
