Hey guys, so after abit of searching on here and not finding the same issue as me, i've decided to make a thread.

So anyway i went to b'ham today to pick up some seats, got there fine locked the car with the remote, again fine, unlocked with remote (fine again), loaded the car, got home and halfway through fitting my new seats i took a break i went to lock the car with the remote and nothing, it's just dead.

Well i say dead but in fact to start with the indicators were still doing the central locking flashes (1 flash = lock, 3 flashes = unlock, or the other way round whichever it is), now the clicking noises you here from the indicators inside are no longer clicking (when you try to lock/unlock, but the clicking is still there when driving using the indicator). A few hours later i decided to try again to see if it was just being french but now the indicators aren't flashing, but there's a couple of click noises inside (i assume from a relay, i think it's 3 clicks, i can go check if you need to know).

I should also state that the central locking doesn't work when you use the key (in either door), or when you press/pull the stick on the door.

Other than changing the seats, the cigeratte lighters fuse blowing for the 2nd time in 3 weeks and accidently hitting the stick on the way back from b'ham locking the door (although it didn't lock the passenger one when i did it), nothing has changed.

General info about the car below:

- 1.4 8v
- 2001 (y reg)
- Pre plexed
- Remote Central locking but no alarm
- i tried resyncing the key but it just does the same thing, a few relay clicks but no indicators or locks.

Any advice would be good, thanks.

Id be more inclined to track it back to the fuse box or relays, im sh*t with electics all but the basics but from what you said about 2nd fuse blowing i'd say its 10 to 1 to be related or the cause of the problems with the central locking

Well the cars had electric gremlins since i bought it, the radio memory wire died, checked the plug where the loom for it connects and thats dead too, then there's the cigeratte lighter which seems to blow a fuse whenever i unplug my satnav (yet it charges my phone fine), and now there's this. Oh and the indicator flashing is now back.

I don't suppose there's actually a fuse for the central locking is there? I had a quick glance in the book but the only thing remotely close to central locking is fuse E in the cabin called "Locking of Openings", i'll be checking it in the morning but it would be helpful to have someone confirm this is a poor translation of central locking.
