Just got a new 206 2.0l quicksilver 53 plate. Having a few weird issues with it.....
I bought the car with a shed load of service history and it's in really good nick. However... Firsty, It came with a full tank of diesel. And as I drove it home it slowly dropped, as it should do. Then a couple of days ago I fill it up with 25 litres, and the full gauge remained in exactly the same place...just above 1/4 of a tank.
The fuel gauge since them has not risen at all, and continued to get lower and lower, and now its on red, telling me I need to refill....but it shou.d have 25 litres in it!!! It as though the fuel just went straight out the other side of the car because it's continued to go down :s
Aswell as that i had a warning message come up yesterday as I was driving home, tell me to stop because the engine coolant was too high, but it went off after about 5 seconds and didn't come on again, and I doubt the engine was hot because I had only been driving a couple of minutes.
Another thing is the MPG counter on the centre screen, that was working fine until yesterday, and then it changed to an aerial? Symbol and then '>> 27MPH'. So I have no clue what this means if anyone else does?
Overall its a super car to drive, really smooth and handling awesome, just these few jiggles. Would resetting the BSI work?
How do you reset the BSI? The guide mentions you have to unplug the diagnostic tool? Where is this? Also the guide doesn't tell you to remove the cover under the dash and do anything there, but on one of the posts on this forum someone mentioned you need to take this cover off and do something under there?
Any help would be much appreciated, cheers guys

Sound like the fuel sender has gone screwy on you there, sometimes a BSI reset will help it, there is a procedure for a Multiplex car www.206info.co.uk/Foru...reset.html
And the Multi function display sounds like you have hit the button on the end of you wiper stalk and is showing you your average speed, push it to cycle through the various display options

I am a 206 noob unfortunately. But I'm pleased to find out that my 206 is a lot more advanced than I first realised. Not used to all these nerdy modern gizmos (makes me old 306 hdi look pretty archaic). Well I rebooted the BSI and had no luck with the fuel gauge, it's still telling me I have no fuel. Is the fuel sender expensive to get done? Can it be a DIY job? I'm pretty good at getting to grips with things, or is it a garage job? Expensive?
As for the warning that came on, I'm just guessing it was a little glitch.

Haha, I was only messing mate but welcome anyway
The sender's on top of the pump, fold the squabs on the back seat down there might be a riveted plate you have to take off and then its a black plastic piece to unscrew and then you can unclip the fuel lines and pull the pump & sender unit straight out.

Okay so the problem has no changed...Either that or it's and entirely new problem. So it's still displaying that I have no fuel (When I should have a fair bit), and i stop at the shop adter a 20 minute drive, and get back in, and it won't start. Sounds like there's no fuel in it, just won't start up. So I leave it 20 minutes, come back to it, open the filler cap and it sounds like air is getting in there and the diesel is filtering down. Then i try and start it, and it works......
Same thing happened yesterday, wouldn't start, and then I open the fuel cap, replace it, and it starts up.
Is there an airlock problem?? Is it related to the fuel gauge not working??

ive just got my 206gti and im gettin much the same fault-ive resorted to using the miles of fuel left counter on the centre read out,sometimes the old gauge reads empty very suddenly then i9 switch off for a minute then when i switch her back on the needle raises to its correct point again.I was getting a bad fuel smell and apparent leak so i ordered a new tank/pump o ring and big black round nut that holds the fuel pump in place and after a b***h of a job getting the big nut off i managed it and removed the pump carefully(dont damage the float)to reveal an almost full tank of fuel which i wasnt expectin after believin the needle gauge as true and not the digital miles to run as true-which reveals i had my trust in the wrong gauge.Eventualy after a good soaking of fuel everywhere i managed to get the old pump out fit the new o ring and put the pump back then retighten it all using the new big black nut but it was a total nightmare gettin it back on well as it just seemed to cross thread for about half a turn at best which is where i am now-running it with only partial nip up with a slight leak still present.HELP IF U CAN PLEASE BUT 1 QUESTION ONCE THE CAR IS RUNNING SHOULD THE FUEL PUMP RUN NON STOP AND IF NOT WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX THIS PLEASE?
