Is it 3 or 5 door?
If I remember right, the runners are independent linked by the release handle, so i dont think its something in the runner or the seat would "crab" (move slightly on one side as the seat flexes).
Your gonna have to get under the seat with a torch, possibly disconnect the release bar from each of the runners (held with spring clip i think)and try to manuallly operate the slides until the seat is far enough back to get to the bolts to take the seat out.
On 3 dr, there is a memory mechanism at the rear of either or both rails, have a look at that, it may have jammed.

get some wd40 on the main opperating parts first of all, pump the seat right up get underneath and try and see what exactly isnt releasing or is preventing it from moving!

First sit in the seat and rock back and forth, whilst lifting the bar. Repeat a few times. Mine likes to jam every now and then.

Did you make sure the bolts were fully screwed in?

Check for a little metal thing in between the runners. I dont know what it does, but something to do with locking the seats in position, sometimes sticks.
