hi was checking my oil at the weekend on my 206 gti 180 to find a small amount of white cream in the very top of the cap,

just wondered if this is common on these engines and also i changed the rocker gasket a couple of days before and wondered if it's possibly got sme moisture in and it's just condensation and not the headgasket on the way out??
ive checked the coolant and oil and it hasn't lost any of either

any ideas/help would be much appreciated

p.s would post a picture but couldn't figuer out how to do it lol

could be condensationjust.. check header tank for bubbles and oil..

Short journeys mean the engine doesn't warm up enough so condensation is sometimes produced. This can manifest as a 'creamy' or 'mayonnaise' type substance on the filler cap. These short journeys aren't good for an engine but as long as the oil & filter is changed regularly shouldn't be to much of a problem. A good sound thrashing once a week should also help to evaporate any condensation as well (more fun than an oil change as well Smile )
Or your head gasket has gone kuput in which case it's gonna get expensive.

It doesn't need a thrashing, just need a decent 30 minute run.

thanks for the replys guys,
have been checking it all week and it's lost no coolant at all but a bit of oil got a bit worried then i noticed that it was coming from around the oil filter so got a new 1 and gave it a service too and all seems good, hopefully it was just condensation
