I was going to use Mobil 1 0w40 in my car. The service book says do not use synthetic oil in the 1.4 hdi engine. Why is this and would the Mobil actually be suitable?

The book with the car. At the bottom said do not use synthetic oils in the 1.4 hdi engine. I was wondering about the 0w40 but that's what recommended on the Mobil website for the 206.

You need a semi synthetic 5W 40 / 10W 40 to at least API CI-4.

CJ-4 spec will be fine to.
