I'm really in two minds. Insurance will allow me a 180 now and have got my eye on a little gem but do I sell up my gti 138
I absolutely love my 138 and is a good example. But a think a 180 gives me a better base model to really get my teeth stuck in to the 206's as I haven't had mine for that long really.
What should I do?.?.

If your wanting to mod your car you may be better with the 138 because the engine is easier to mod, if you want a car that is good out of the box get a 180.

Thats my point, their value has dropped from high insurance, fuel etc.. But I will not be paying much more on insurance getting a 180 and fuel is expensive any way I look at it.
I would prefer the 180 and Let's face it, the 180 is quicker then my 138 and pumping time and money into a car seems to be more worthwhile doing it to a 180.
My main issue is getting a good one that is mechanically sound and clean as mine is.

Why not just keep your 138 GTI & invest in a better car then a 206 in the future.

Probably not, it would cost more money to get more from the 180 engine.
The 138 is easier to mod for power from what ive read, but as i say if you compare them both out of the box the 180 is better.

I actually really like the 206. Great chassis and a hoot to dive, yes I've had 5 French cars so I've heard all the "FPOS" jokes but I think it's a cracking little car for how cheap they are.
