I have a small amount of play in my near side wheel when i move it with my hands at 9 and 3 but nothing at 12 and 6 and every now and again i feel a small clunk when i do ,say a big turn after reversing.

could be all sorts,
is it a clicking noise, = drive shaft, clunk noise= suspension top mount, knocking noise= wheel bearing!

perfect.it was the wheel bearing,no play, no occasional clunk.
