Hi guys, could probably have searched this, but havent got time, need to get my car in order, hopefully so i can drive to work tonight!

Basically last night i was driving from leics to leeds, ran perfectly fine, then on the way back, ran perfectly fine, then 1 mile away from my house as i pulled off the motorway, out of nowhere, in 2nd gear, it lost a hell of a lot of power, misfired like hell, engine management light started flashing. it still drove, but with considerably less power than usual and it ran dog rough... when i got back i turned it off, left it a minute, then started her up again, took it round the block, it ran better, but the management light was still flashing, and there was still a slight misfire..

a couple of weeks ago i cleaned the ICV, and changed the paper filter... the last week replaced the centre section of the exhaust and the back box, with a new standard one...

Its an 02 plate, gti 138
Any ideas?

Cheers

Sounds as if your coil pack is on it's way out, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong good luck

Such behaviour is normally caused by the coilpack or hydraulic lifters. I'd go for the coil pack and some new spark plugs first.
