hi all. just purchased a 206 xsi 2002. which needs a gearbox. im struggling to find 1 so im wondering if a 307 1.6 gearbox will fit??

or a 307 hdi 1.6 box will fit as there seems to be alot of these on ebay.

any help much appreciated.

If the 307 1.6 gearbox is a BE4 or MEC type, the internals will be the same but the housing will probably be different. I've looked on ServiceBox for you and there aren't any specs listed but the part numbers don't cross over against each other leading me to suspect that they won't fit.

bugger. so not even the petrol 307 box will fit then?

does anyone know a pug breakers who might have 1??

hello again, a friend has given me a 106 gti box out of a x reg and told me to swap the bell housing so i can match it to the engine and still have the hydraulic clutch????? does it work??

fantastic Very Happy i dont mind some extra hours i can not find a 206 xsi box for a realistic price, cheapest is £240 + £60 delivery Surprised

the gti box is free so its just strip 'n' swap now lol.

is there anything i sshould be aware of in advance? extra bits? seals or stuff need replacing while its out??

always worth to replace the drive shaft oil seal.

i am surprise it cost that much for MA box. i pick up one BE box the other day cost me less than 200 quid delivered

lol just as i wrote that my mrs just found 1 on ebay out of a 206cc for £125 and its already got hydro clutch. how was that for timing

that price was about right.

Peugeot did this quite alot when building the 106. they would, in nearly all cases fit a 106 engine into a 106..... Now a crazy idea would be to put a 106gti engine in a 206.....

This 206 IS going on a trackday despite it's every effort to stay at home in the garage!
