Can someone help me? I'm trying to put a new timing belt on a second hand low mileage engine. I got given timing settings from Peugeot which says the cams lock at 4 and 8 o'clock. Problem is they both lock at 8 o'clock. Is this anything to do with the vvt?

If you dont know what your doing. Leave it. The 180 engine is a ballache to set the timming on properly. You need the special locking tools for it otherwise it will not go well.

Well cheers for that. About as much use as a chocolate fireguard. I said my mechanic friend is doing it for me as I'm not rich enough to pay overpriced dealership prices.

It's not that they treat you like an idiot, it's just most new members ask questions that have been asked dozen's of times before, and also most of them can't spell or use the correct grammar, I can understand their frustration sometimes, but this guy asked a genuine question
