It's an 02 1.4 Look with 44000 miles for £1200. I have been looking at other cars but for that money they are all high mileage or much older.
I have had several quotes for fixing my Rover and the cheapest has been £550 - if I could get it done for under £400 I would!

Don't forget to leave money spare for the fixing of items.
Have you given the car a good check over? Tyres? Is it a CAT C? D? If so I would say it is a high price.

But you could get a high mileage car thats been looked after as apposed to the low mileage car that hasnt.
I think as said, you already have your heart set on it, you should really shop around for a better one.

Yes it has new tyres and passed MOT. Don't know if it has a CAT C - it's petrol if that helps!
Thanks for your help and consideration

I would leave well alone if it has warning lights on.
The STOP light is there for a reason, and means what it says.
The STOP light might be related to the airbag light, but consider that the STOP light might be related to another issue with the car. You could end up spending as much again to get the car to a safe and roadworthy standard. MOT means nothing. Many people on here will tell you that they can get a car through the MOT with faults because they know the tester, plus the MOT is only really valid for the time the tester was looking at it.
At the end of the day, it's your money so spend it however you want. You could always pay for an expert like AA or RAC to give the car a once over. They may identify something that you haven't been told. I know it sounds daft, but people do lie about a cars history when they want to get rid.

Thanks Macca,
I've decided to walk away as things just don't add up. My friend's husband has now said that if I disable the central locking the light goes off so he thinks it is the rear door and it "only" needs a new latch.......there seem to be too many little things that "only" need this doing for my liking!
Thanks everyone for the help, advice and courtesy that MOST of you have shown me.
Mr BS - if you find a thread boring or annoying you don't have to read it or comment on it - try clicking out of it instead of throwing your weight around ; )
Bye Guys
