I recently changed the abs ring on the drivers side as the old one was broken, never got an abs fault on the dash until now after changing it, i counted the teeth on the ring tonight, they are the same amount as the passenger side, only thing was the clearance on the passenger side was bigger than the driver side from the sensor, i plugged the diagnostic tool into the car tonight and these are the codes, there is one for the maf sensor but i dont think that has anything to do with the problem. the codes are P1521 clutch switch and P0100 which is maf sensor i think, heres the photos from the diagnostics, its my dads, im not to sure if the diagnostic is a decent one or not and i dont know if it has gave me all the codes from the abs problem, can anyone help? would really appreciate it as i have mot on monday :-/

I think you better have it checked with a PP2000,so that you know exactlly what is wrong with your ABS system,other wise you will keep guessing,but the ring should be tight enough,so it don't slip while the car is moving,other wise it will stay still and give a wrong signal to ABS ECU,because the ABS sensor works as a speed sensor as well,so if the car speed is not compatible with the Speed sensor fitted on flywheel of the grear box,and the TDC sensor,you will have that problem,so fix the ABS,good luck.

Thanks for that, the abs ring is tight and there is no slack at all but the distance between the sensor and the new ring is bigger than the other one, I'm taking most garages will have that equipment your talking about? Il have to bring it somewhere and the fault checked properly, I'm guessing it's the abs ring I wonder if the distance between the sensor and ring can be adjusted and measured

The PPS2000 can be found at the garages that deal with Peugeot cars only,because this is the formal tool used by the dealer as well,it will give you exactlly what is wrong with the ABS,and which wheel ,and the exact fault.
If the distance between the ring and sensor if far away,I would say that the reading will not exist,so the distance does matter in such a thing,and you may have to consider checking the sensor itself,maybe it needs cleaning,or the plug is dodggy,so check again,and if it got fixed,you need to rest the fault.

Im going to change the driveshaft on it as i dont trust any of these aftermarket abs rings, the light will probably still be on my dash, one of my customers has the pps2000 he said he paid 5 grand for his equipment, he said it will tell me what side the fault is on etc i really think its the gap between the sensor and the ring, so hopefully another driveshaft will do the job, then il get that mechanic to turn the light out on the dash, hes charging me a tenner which is pretty cheap! thank f because i am skint lol

Right this is really strange, got mechanic to put his snap on diagnostic machine in and no faults on abs put another diagnostic machine in, it's reading all the abs sensors and they are all putting out the same reading equally I was looking at it while we where driving, the light doesn't come on all the time just occasionally, the mechanic recons it's the abs pump, could it be faulty fuses or something straight forward?

Got the problem fixed, brought the car to a different mechanic with better diagnostic equipment, he told me snap on is crap, he paid 14 grand for his equipment, it ended up being the abs pump, lucky enough I picked on up today for 40 quid, so if anyone has replaced their abs rings and still get a fault I'd say go get the fault checked by someone who has the best equipment, only charged me a tenner as I know him but usually charges 30 quid but at least it tells you the problem straight away, just hav the joy of replacing it now, hopefully the brakes bleed without any bother, hope this helps for anyone who has the same problem as I know by reading forums, ABS problems are common with the 206's

£14,000 for diag equipment? Aye alright, you can get Actia Multidiag which is one of the best out there for a lot less than that Laughing

Well I'm just telling you what he told me, anyway he might be lying, personally I don't care it sorted my fault out without having to go to Peugeot, he said his updates every 3 months, it's not a little handheld touch screen I think it was wified or bluetoothed to his computer, he paid 5000 for something then paid extra for software I don't know, il ask him again if you want lee?

Nah I'm not fussed, just think he's paid a lot for what he has.

I paid no where near that and I get access to Peugeot, Citroen, Renault, Hyundai, Ford, Chrysler, Kia, Dodge, and Jeep dealer networks.

But saying that, I don't have the probes and stuff for emissions and that because I don't make enough or do enough to justify paying it Laughing

cheers for the help guys, fitted the pump this afternoon, busted up my little finger slipping on the brake pipes going to the pump, had to take off the housing that holds the air filter then take off the whole bracket that holds the pump, if anyone ever needs help on removing a pump give me a shout, obviously not the exprerienced people on here but people who dont have a clue, seen a few threads with people asking how to do it, the bleed screw ended up getting a bit of rounding the little sh-it was rusted solid, ended up draining the whole brake system and just put new stuff in.

Yeah lee its a bit much for equipment, but even my dad was telling me earlier who knows the same guy, he agreed and said he paid that for all the equipment, computers etc, i think he gets the arm into people who he doesnt know to get his money back on the machine, probably got robbed by some salesman lol
