I've left this really late but been busy at work and school etc... Ive got my mot on monday and my front fog lights have not worked sinced ive had the car, i know you don't have to have fog lights on your car but if you do and they don't work is it an MOT failure??.

As long as it is the correct lettering and spacing and doesn't stop you from being able to read the plate it should be ok. I have passed one with my number plate split in half before. However rules are changing but I don't think it will be a issue.

I put my punto in for it's test last week and they didn't even check the front fogs so I guess it would depend on who's testing it. With all the changes they have brought in lately it could go either way though.

It should fail, but again its down to the tester...

If the lights are there... they should work - Thats the way it works.

If your worried about it then either fix it or remove them before going in.
They cant test whats not there Wink

Front fog's are not an MOT item regardless of if they are there or not. My 1.4 passed MOT on Wednesday when the front fogs dont work.

Also go get some new numberplates made up over the weekend. Somewhere like halfords if you cant get anywhere else in time. Dont give them any excuse to fail it.

Shut it u stupid little f**k, what's the point in posting in all my treads being such a c***? Least I can afford a gti180, and to get the cam belt done!

So apparently everyone knows my financial situation? If I wanted a 180 I would have bought a 180 simples Smile

its like tinted front windows, if you put them down before the test (hopefully it dont rain) they cant be tested, well thats how it used to be, as the moter wasnt allowed to put them up.

Could be something as simple as a fuse or could be something as annoying as wiring...

Check the fuse out first though...

Do you have the manual?
