Basically today I bought a 206, its a 53 plate 'look' and it came with one key.

The bloke I bought it off said when he bought it from its previous owner, it only had the one key (we have his name, address and receipt, so its nothing dodgy, just putting that out there lol).

The problem I have is that:
1. There's only one key, so if I lose it I'm screwed! I do have the little card thing that you take to a dealer to get a replacement that came with the log book but I'm not too keen on spending £100+ for it.
and
2. the key I have is not a remote one, so I imagine it must be the spare? (this is me assuming that a 53 plate would come with central locking, may well be wrong!) admittedly its not much of a major problem but after coming from an R reg Saxo, I was looking forward to being able to have a 'dabber' Razz

My question is, would it be possible to buy a second hand remote key off of ebay or a local scrap yard and have it coded to work on my car to operate the remote central locking? I have no idea what shape of key fob it was (I don't know if that's a problem or not?) and how much would it set me back?

Cheers for your help!

Hi.
I've had the same problem and after much investigating the only option was to cough up for a replacement key from Peugeot.
Needless to say I didn't. Sad

Just to echo the above post, Lee sorted a spare key/fob for my Wifes car, top fella and a good price.
