I am having problems with my 206 1.6 hdi and I'm hoping someone will help me.
The other week my engine light came on and my car went into limp mode not reving above 3000revs (which lasted for about a minute - the engine light went off after about 10 miles). MPG is still in the 60s.
Ever since that day the car will not start straight away and takes several ticks to get ot started. Some days I have to prime the fuel line to get it started. I can see that air has got into the fuel system as when I prime it fuel goes through the pipe then air then fuel.......
I have since had the codes read and they say I have a fuel leak (which will let in air) but they are unsure as to where it will be. I take it this will be P0093 and P0087? I have read that 1.4 hdis have a propblem with the fuel lines rubbing. Does anyone know if the 1.6 hdis have this same promblem and where I should look? The only thing I have been able to find is that when I prime the fuel I can hear a hissing sound from the green connector which goes to the fuel harnes.
P1461 (EGR valve). I have been reading that this can become clogged with dirt. Does anyone know where I can find this so I can give it a clean?
P2408 (additive system cap) This stuff is running low and I have been quoted £160 plus fitting from the garage to have this topped up. I have seen some JML fluid on Ebay (1 ltire for £40). Has anyone used this? I was thinking of filling it with some of that to see if the code would go or could it be the cap too?
I want to try and sort itmyself to try and keep the costs down - me and my girlfriend are having a baby in July so I want to keep the car (if I can).
Hi Ben p1461 is the air con pressure voltage low, and P0422 is maximum number of exhaust re-gens reached. I would personally get the fuel cap sensor and harness changed so the ecu knows the cap is on then you can get the counters set to zero for the exhaust re-gens. Once the Dpf filter has performed a re-gen the car will feel better. As for the fuel codes I would change the fuel filter first as that is the cheapest and easiest thing to clog up. The egr valve is on the right held on by two ten mm bolts a little fiddly though.
