Alright all.
I have 2 little issues with my headlights.
First issue is the very unsightly glare from the headlights. It is noticeable from all angles and distances. Is there any way to rectify this issue or is it something that just needs to be lived with ?
2nd Problem is the angel eyes, as you can see in the pictures below they are very dim (pictures actually look brighter then they are)
I can only thing of 2 reasons of the lack of light, either there is not enough power to the bulbs ( although when looking at the bulbs when not in the eyes they look ok (not very bright but ok),
Or this could be solved by replacing the bulbs with some brighter bulbs (but don't want to do this if its a lack of power issue)

In my opinion, angel eye headlamps are for Aestethics only. Never have I seen any with decent light output.
I'm sure you can change the bulbs to LED's which should make them a bit better. But they still won't be great on dark roads.

I can only think of 1 reason-
Angel eyes are cheap rubbish that put looks over function. (that could be 2 reasons I suppose).

The angel eyes are set up as day running lights so there not actually my normal headlights or main beam, they don't stop me from driving anywhere.
With that note, you cant really see them during the night so during daylight there useless.
And if you use them in conjunction with your actual headlights (the ones you use at night) again you cant see them as the headlight drowns them out. So they don't actually look good at all .
I didn't buy them as they were already on the car when purchased so I'm not to bothered if there void haha
Any clue on the glare off the glass ?

The rings are crap, but the rest of the lights are fine as they have full nightbreaker bulbs.
What other lights are good to get, I'm not sure if I like Morette's, so when i get my GTi, i can just swap them across

Its not glare, its just the light hitting the lense.

Morettes are equally as bad for light output. So if you are bothered at all by light output is steer clear of those.
Best bet is to get some Crystals, then if you want to make the look better, split them and colour code them.

Can you point me in the direction for some New crystals from a reliable source please . Will also look on how to "split them and colour code them."
Cheers

There's normally some crystals in the for sale section mate. And there's a masking headlights thread in the how to section somewhere too. It's dead easy to do, I've just done it this weekend.

For new ones you maybe best going to the dealer. Alternatively look for some on eBay. Just make sure they are Valeo ones if you want genuine.

I had angels before and that shine is quite normal,as for driving in pitch dark when i 1st installed them. They was quite bad until adjusted made slight improvements and i had phillips h4 70% x-treme power bulbs and standard side beam bulbs.
I tell you now, driving in angels in country roads, pitch dark with no street lights is scary.
I had to remove mine due to MOT failure,i got myself some firedance orange valeo masked crystal from ebay and light output is just as perfect when i 1st had crystals installed.
Too bad on colour though haha, its like or hate on my colour car people probably find it amusing when they see it while im driving, would love to mask them same colour though but got no time or swap them for mask blacks.
