Is that brake pipe right? Doesnt look it. That L shaped bit of copper is unsupported and will break eventually. Everytime you steer it will try to bend it and the constant flexing will end in disaster.

I was also thinking that paul looks v.unsafe mate, at very least it should be supported at the hub then to the flex fixing. I would of just had a custom flex made up that goes direct to it 2bh

thats the way the standard hoses were there just a little shorter, must admit i dont like how flimsy brake pipes are so might make up a bracket for them as there is plenty of space between the flexi ending and copper elbow starting (thread i mean) to fit a washer style bracket ill have the weels off again soon im sure, so will have a good look thanks for the heads up

I've seen a similar thing but they always have a supporting bracket. I'd sort that straight away. Have a look at some pictures of Sierra Cosworth calipers. I'm sure they have a bracket.

will do as i said they came pretty much like that off the 406 coupe, but there again there will be more play in the rubber hoses, ill check them on full lock both wys with the wheels off tomorrow probably, im sure i could make a bracket to bolt in to the hub where the abs sensor mount is

do you mean something like what these calipers have?? clicky i might see if them hoses will be long enough without the copper pipe as they the same thread, do you know why they use the copper part any benifits?

Thats the sort of thing yes. I imagine the length of copper pipe means the hose doesnt need to reach as far into a wide wheel.

been under the car looking at the hoses and there is no movment in the copper parts so ill leave them for now checking them every time i have the wheels off

i was planning to wash the car after this so thought i may as well clean up the arch and wheels

wheels after a good soak in AG custom wheel cleaner

arch after a scrub then spray wax i found in the shed to help the dirt come off next time
(i know i missed a bit)

and finished, i did try to cover up the stone chip on the black of the alloys with some hammerite i had left in a rattle can as its not worth re doing them properly like i did last time

i think the arches need some underseal to help keep them from rotting so thats to do when the rest of the car gets undersealed

got the car tracked up today, it was way out but now drives like a dream few odd results from the printout but not much i can do about it there not much camber up front lol

tosion bars Will be getting fitted on the 25 if they come out without issues. i have scrapped the idea of undersealing the car and fitting a 180 axle for this year anyway i have started to soak them in wd 40 (the ones on the car lol)

You say there is no movement in those copper pipes, when going over bumps etc there definately will be flex. That should be your first priority to fit. Bonkers to ignore it.

as i said there is no play in them while steering ill take another look to see if they have moved at all, they come from the factory like that with the rubber hoses

when i picked my brembos up they also had copper pipes, and also crap lol, my custom hoses were only £40 delivered, might be worth investing.

had a little fun yesterday and today, decided to get a powerflex bust for the engine as it was near enough the same price as an oem one, and there not a stiff as the vibra technics so should be ok to leave the others standard,

removing the old one was easier said then done, managed to remove the rubber (with cutting myself lol) then came the fun bit of cutting/chiveling out the outer shell, in the process of this i hit the oil level probe and oil started to leak everywhere so rang pug to get a new one which was 40quid (expensive mistake) but they couldnt get it till the morning, so left the car leaking over night and lost over 2ltrs so nearly an oil change, got the new bush in within 5 mins of getting the shell out

result is i would recomend doing it but mind the oil level probe lol, engine feels alot sharper and the car feels more solid but miine was shot as the engine swayed so much that its rattled the exhaust lose a few times

tomorrow is torsion bars Embarassed

over the weekend i had a go at fitting the torsion bars ive had for a few months, they were a bit of a pain with the trailing arm coming away instead of the torsion bar, after one day i got the top bar out and the new one in, then the bottom bar took nearly 2 days to get out i had to knock it in and out for ages then it finally came out,

got it all back together and realised i had raised the back end slightly but think ill keep it for a while, might lower it a little late on but we will see

how it used to sit, with the old front sprins also

how it sits now with the new springs and torsion bars

there 22mm pug sport bars which have made the back near enough as firm as the front so happy with it, just need to fix the arb bolt that connects to the arm as this sheered off when i tried to loosen it Sad

think ill re thread it as getting the bolt out wont be easy

next is to make a bracket up for the brake hoses
