Yo.

I have the airbag, steering wheel and cowling off. So I'm staring at a 'naked' com2000. I can't for the life of me work out how the com2000 actually comes off though!! Sad

I can't see any screws. I'm sat in the car crying (not really)

Help!!!

IIRC, mine had a jubilee clip on the 'column' that I had to undo toget it to slide off...was a while ago though...its was on a mux, 2002, 206.

Undo the metal clamp on the back then release the plastic clips, it then slides of the steering column.

Make sure you disconnect all the electrical plugs on the back first!

Double check the 2 connector plugs are fully home in the drivers airbag before you clip in the yellow locking clips!

Will do.

'permanent fault. level of driver module level 2. Short circuit'

That's the fault code. Sounds ominous with the 'permenant' bit.

Just a few observations... The wires on the com2000 were white whereas the old ones were white. Visually it was different, speaker was located behind rather than in front.

Have I f****d it? Sad

Nope. Came off a 2004 206 1.4 hdi, which had thr airbags deployed

Got another one coming tomorrow. I'll pop the old one back on, see if the fault corrects itself. If it does then great, if not then bad bad bad. Unless its a case of replacing the airbag or something.

Edit.

Took it apart again and now there's no light.

Mr BSI thanks for putting up with my endless simpleton question.
Oh and it doesn't have the button but I've just tried using the cocktail stick and I've got trip mpg stuff mega!
