Having a few probs with a 2002 D-Turbo 206, still working on it though only got the evenings with it so try and work out things to try during the day.

Other Thread

Just want to throw question(s) out there for some clarification.

I have no communication to the Engine ECU through PP, this could be the loom possibly. would there be a possibilty that if I had a known working ECU that I could plug it into the car and get a reply...to test the loom basically. I know that it wouldnt run but even if i got a ECU mismatch message that would be something.

This sort of leads me on to the next question.

If im unable to get anywhere, its going to be a case of replacing the ECU, am i correct in saying that I can't just get another engine ECU off a 2.0hdi 206 and put it on...even though i have access to PP could i not just recode (or whatever) the ECU to the car?

If not, what are the main componants that have to be changed together? ECU, BSI and ...? Could this come from a standard 2.0HDI Mux? or ideally from the D-Turbo Model?

Cheers All

You can change the ecu's over providing the numbers on the underside match to the new ecu but ensure its un-coded

You need one that matches your electrical system, pre plex or multiplex. The cheapest and easiest way is to buy a complete set from the same car including ecu, bsi, transponder Ariel and the transponder chip for the key. This way you dont need to spend money on getting them re-coded.

So apparently everyone knows my financial situation? If I wanted a 180 I would have bought a 180 simples Smile

This, replace all four things from another car and it will work fine don't need to p**s around trying to unlock stuff and it will be the cheapest option, takes 20 minutes max to fit

You also need the transponder ring and chip out of the key if you want it to be a straight swap

You DON'T need the transponder ring, they are not coded or locked to the car, its only an aerial to read the chip inside the key.

Round the ignition barrel.

It's only a aerial

What are these "plug and play" ecu's?

I have spied a whole electronic set i.e. ECU, BSI, Key fob, Ignition ariel and BSM fuse box and all the numbers match on each part...

Though its from a 2003 SW HDi. whereas I have a 2002 D Turbo HDi...should this matter...even if all the codes match exactly?

Just waiting on a price at the moment.

Ones that have had the immobiliser function removed so you plug it in & the car will start without any coding needed.

NOTE: Your car if you fit one will no longer have an immobiliser & your insurance company can invalidate your theft cover!
