Hi Everyone,

I have a 1.1 Peugeot 206 Zest 3 (55 Plate). The other day I bought new stereo speakers for the car, and removed the driver door manufacturer speaker, and un-did the clip to separate the wires. Since then the car simply will not start, the engine turns when you turn the key, but never actually sparks. (I have since returned the speakers to the original state)

I have had it into the local garage, where he has replaced the Coil Pack, with no luck. He says when the engine is turning over there is no spark coming from the plugs.

He has recommended putting the car to my local Peugeot garage to look at - just wondered if anyone had any ideas before I pay a fortune to get it hooked up to their code reader?

Thanks in advanced Very Happy

Josh

*Edit - Forgot to mention, there was a yellow cable behind the radio that had been cut and taped together, I wondered if this had come loose and caused an issue so i've joined it with a connector now.

Fuse will be blown, look at the fuses in the cabin fusebox - common issue when people mess around with the stereo on multiplexed 206's.

206 immobiliser doesnt stop the starter turning.

As for the cut yellow cable, solder & heatshrink it back together.

Its also a good idea when working on the elctrical side of a multiplexed 206 to shut the BSI unit down correctly & disconnect the battery Wink

Couldn't see any blown fuses but I'll go and have a look - the sidelights come on as soon as the ignition is turned on, although they're in the off position if that means anything?

Your 206 is multiplexed / digital CAN VAN electrical system.

Sidelights on by themselves means the BSI has detected loss of communication from a node on the CAN VAN system, most likely the immobiliser circuit that runs through the com2000 unit.

Check the fuses first BUT shut the BSI unit down correctly then disconnect the battery - DON'T just pull fuses out the fuse box as you can crash the BSI software / kill the BSI unit & it then gets expensive to sort out Wink

Just like a computer, multiplexed 206's dont like there electrical systems being fiddled with / fuses being pulled on a live system Laughing

Any mechanic should have been able to spot this! Check them carefully, they could look fine.
