Has my GTI 180 lost power?

Got my Janspeed cat-back and a K&N air panel fitted by Peugeot yesterday.

When accelerating harshly to get past a large vehicle on the M60 I felt as if the car has lost a slight amount of power. Wouldn't say a lot, but I then tried a 0-60 on a private road and they are now about 9 seconds and it doesn't seem as quick to complete first gear. Also the car seems a little bit more sluggish when accelerating past 70, it's still swift but not as quick.

Is there anything that could have happened? Maybe the original exhaust/air filter were of better quality?

Incidentally in my 0-60s I think I awful at changing gears, I try to change as quick as possible just before 7k revs but I still can't get anywhere near 7 odd seconds even with ESP turned off and with no-one else in the car and fuel empty.
So I was wondering if someone can help me by posting (safely of course, perhaps on youtube) something other than a stand-still when putting the car flat out, e.g. a 30-70 or 20-60. I just want to see (and hope) that my car has the same/similar acceleration to other 180s. Luke's 0-60 and even a stock GTI and others on youtube are welllllllll quicker than mine off the mark despite many dozens of attempts and so I am wondering if mine is a bit of a porker and the only way I can tell is to match up the accelation from a specified speed, not from a start because it could just be I'm bloody awful at them. Does this make sense?!

go check your fuel pump pressure, make sure u changed fuel filter too, air filter,spark plugs, and for advice put back your stock air filter because its the best suited for your engine as it is designed to suck in cold air from outside and cold air adds power to the engine.

Fuel filter is in the tank and cleans it self should never need replacing.
He as only put a panel filter on so will be useing the standerd airbox and air intake pipes.

have u tryed filling up fuel somewere else could be rubish fuel i have found that difrent stations i fill up at and the car performes diffrent

Gear changes can make a big difference to acceleration times. I wouldnt worry about it.

Don't forget that not all cars make the same power. Some will make more power than others, and some will make less, there are good and bad cars (power wise) when it comes to every model of car on the road!
Maybe its a bit of a placebo too, ie the car isnt actually any slower than before, but you were expecting more from having the exhaust/filter fitted.

Some days my car feels slower than others. I think it's probably just down to the fact that you were trying to notice a difference. However tho I think some larger bore exhausts can decrease the acceleration slightly. I had the cat removed on my Astra and it didnt accelerate so well also lost a little top end! the chap at the garage said it could be down to the backpressure being reduced therefore losing some torque.

Being that you had a performance exhaust fitted I would just think its the fact that you are trying to notice the power more.

Nice one guys. Really much appreciated.

I always use V Power mine. Expensive but can hardly say the fuel is crap, least I'm using top quality stuff.
I was expecting a extremely slight difference from the mods even if just a better throttle response but I am sure it just doesn't rev up and move as quick!

Anyway I had a thought, is there anyone around Manchester where I just take it in for a Dyno session to see what power it is making, to see if it is around 170? Won't cost a lot will it?

Own a Blue Peugeot 206 GTI 180.

Did you change your timing belt in near time ? It could be wrong timing settings.

Might sound silly but try resetting the ECU, always used to help on the older pugs and first thing i always tend to do.
