so recently i bought a spoiler for my car from ebay. it came with two bots one at each side in it but no fitting instructions or the rubber part that sits between your car and spoiler. i have had a look on how to fit it and i know how i have also seen that there is a template on here. but do i need the rubber parts because the bottom of the spoiler where it attaches onto the car isn't smooth so i can just tiger seal it. i will up load a pic soon of each end.

The rubber bit is to protect the paintwork on the tailgate when the spoiler is screwed in, its just to stop any marks being rubbed into the paint but its a bit redundant being as you are drilling a hole in the thing.

I'd say it's not a necessity and that if you tigerseal and screw it in you'll have the best of both worlds.

DON'T glue on the rubber parts if you aren't bolting as well, the rubber part will stick fine onto the car but then you relying on the bond between the rubber part and the spoiler to hold it. If you are just gluing it remove it first.
