hi everyone
just wondered if anyone could advise me on a ticking sound im getting from the ns wheel arch area? its a loud really annoying ticking that goes with the rpm of the engine but stops if you rev it past 3000, its definately in this area as if i get my hand through the fold down panel in the inner wheel arch and hold whatevers behind there it stops... but im wondering, what is behind there that im grabbing? seems a bit wierd?
second question, i had a 306 dturbo 6 months, this 206 a bit gutless compared to that? if i give it some stick it seems to lag when you change gear too? think im going to have a look at the boost pipe and see if its split tomorrow?
third question, its got a bad wobble on the break pedal, but im sure its warped discs, so ill order a set and get them fitted tomorrow
would apprechiate any help with these problems thanks!
sam

1.9 wasn't d-turbo
1.9 is NA; d-turbo is 2.0

306 had over the years: 1.9 non turbo, 1.9 turbo & also later cars had the 2.0 HDI.
In the 206:
1.9 is a old fashioned non turbo donkey lump.
Turbo diesel power in a 206 will be either bulletproof 2.0 HDI crappy 1.4 HDI or the FAPTASTIC piece of s**te 1.6 HDI
DON'T mess around with the HDI fuel system unless you know what your doing, its very easy to injure yourself & / OR cause expensive damage to the engine!

in all fairness its just me being thick, it should have been obvious it would be non turbo as why would peugeot use the dturbo engines and the hdi engines at the same time in production.
and as good as a hdi sounds ive just bought this as a cheap runabout, and it was cheap, paid 400 quid for it with march mot, november tax, 49k on the clock (although its had a clock change as ive mot history checked it, so the true mileage is 80k which is still nothing really)
ill take the arch liners out tonight on the side the tickings coming from and see if i can sort it

The 2.0 HDI actually returns better mpg then the old 1.9 diesel

This could also be a wheel slightly out of balance...i've had that a few times when changing alloys.

right sorted the brake wobble with discs/pads but it seems it has a wheel bearing out... have tried sorting the annoying air pipe rattle ill have another go tomorrow. got a complete service kit so going to do that tomorrow.
also another really annoying thing is that the drivers seat didnt go back enough so i had to drive in an uncomfortable position all the time, so had to go buy these cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBay...TQ:GB:1123 very happy with them at £100!
whilst removing the seats i found the secret compartment under the seat with near full service history inside - happy days!
anyway to my question, i tried changing a rear door card and cant work out how to get the front seatbelt through the hole in the card, the new ones didnt come with the seatbelts so im pretty sure its possible to get the clip through?
thanks all
