Hi all,
Not a 206 I know so sorry for that. Hopefully someone will have some experience of this or maybe the same engine is used in a 206.
Anyway, I have a fault code telling me that the camshaft pos sensor is not working. I have a new one but I can not find it on the engine!!! I guess it must be burried round the back somewhere? I'm at my girlfriends with minimal tools and working on the street at the mo.
Anyone know where it is please?
Thanks

Its P0341 - Camshaft Position Sensor.
However I am begining to think that it is a false code as I have now read a few threads that say they get this code and there is no sensor on that engine!! Apparently the 2.0 has cam pos sensors but the 1.4 does not but I see no mention of the 1.6!?
If there is no sensor, what is the fault!?
Strange

Does the car run? If not could be the timing thats jumped by a tooth or two.
Had this on a 307 before now, would turn over but wouldn't fire, gave the fault code of no signal from the camshaft position sensor, checked the timing and it was out.

Thanks but the car starts and runs perfectly. I have shopped around the tinternet and it seems that this car does not have a camshaft position sesnor!! I have searched round the engine everywhere and it doesn't have one. Any ideas why I am getting this fault code?! Its put the MIL light on and so its an MOT failure.
Thanks

No its not.
Something as simple as the wrong spark plugs OR excessive cranking on starting can throw this error code.

A long crank or wrong plugs cause a cam pos sensor error? That seems odd. Any ideas what can be done to fix it? It seems impossible to diagnose the fault when its telling me there is a fault with a component that is not even fitted to this engine!!!
This seems like an issue that should have been fixed before going into production. Maybe Puegeot could shed some light on it. I will call them tomorrow.
