You have a few different catergories

CAT A - Crush only no parts can be salvaged (most commonly when a fatality has occurred in the car) absolutely nothing can be sold on from the car, not even a bolt

CAT B- Salvage only - The car itself can never return to the road but any salvageable parts can be sold on

CAT C - Uneconomical repair - Cant remember the exact figure think it's 50% but if the parts & labour for the repair exceed that percentage of the car's value then it is deemed uneconomical.

CAT D - similar to cat c, but more of a get out clause for the insurance company. Say now someone hits your wing, and you go through insurance to repair, they may choose to cat d write off the car as they do not want to authorize the work and then get the car into a body shop where they remove the wing and find more structural damage underneath which could push the cost into a cat c.

Shut it u stupid little f**k, what's the point in posting in all my treads being such a c***? Least I can afford a gti180, and to get the cam belt done!

So apparently everyone knows my financial situation? If I wanted a 180 I would have bought a 180 simples Smile

bit of an update

the insurance have said it looks like it will go in my favour and the third part has changed their story twice so should work out well

also 3 months ago i started a new job working as a courier so full time and more pay so the car will be staying and if all works out well a track car which will get used regular hopefully , i just need to work out what can tow it on a trailer as its so confusing about what you can tow etc any tips would be appreciated

think the next mod will be some new wheels as the ones i have now are past their best by a long shot and smaller wheels will work much better on the track, then maybe a new exhaust

just an idea but has anyone made their own a rolll cage??

insurance has still not come to a good end my insurance had told the third party to settle 50/50 for the 3rd time without my consent so its having to drag on more, went and got a renault megane the 1.5 dci (pic once cleaned) which will save me on 1k a year in running costs so more to spend on the 206

plans for the 206 are to wait for insurance to come through then buy it back get a new colour coded door and pop the dent out then i need wheels, discs pads, and exhaust then it will be ready for track use, also a little diet for the car so all interior will be up for grabs,

the new work area is not finished
view from my kitchen window (ideal for cups of coffee to be passed through :))

its not too bad for costing me the breeze blocks and slabs at the end, yes i ran out of block paving lol

things have been moving slow atm with needing to finish the kitchen decoration off and work but on the plus side ill be set 5 days a week working now with my own van from next week, i have sold a few bits from the interior and got the cable for the battery re-location with new clamps etc

im also weighing things i remove to see how much can be removed just out of curiosity, im hoping to have the interior stripped in a week or so and battery in the boot

head unit heater fan car mats weighing 5kg

with bolts and other bits of trim still to go not to mention all the amp wires and board of mdf i put in the boot to keep the exhaust managable

goin well usher,if I remember correctly I think I knocked 150kgs off the weight of my car,I was the same weighed everything Laughing Laughing a nice weight reduction improvement is a fibreglass bonnet,I think mine weighed about 9kgs less than the original bonnet.aircon is also quite heavy was about 10kg in total I think.also got smaller lighter wheels (every 1kg reduction in unsprung weight is equivalant to 10kg sprung weight) which made a really nice difference.also the sound deadning the stuff is on like tar under the front seats, you need a heat gun to get it up,weighs 5-6kg Shocked
