Hi there users A little help please,
I Have Pug 206 1.6 Rolland Garros W Reg (2000) for 4 weeks now, when i first had it i took it to the garage as when I Am going any faster the 50 MPH the car would shake a lot when i am giving gas, the car does not do this if you build up speed gradually,
i took it to the garage and was told it was the gearbox that is not doing to well and a lot of stuff rattling around in there, the best thing to do is to get another one, the cheapest way is to get a new clutch and they will put in the new gearbox for me,
ok so time has come to get the car back with the new clutch and gearbox. the bad news is that i still have this problem but not as violent as it was, but was told it was the drive shaft... i sourced the drivshaft my self by giving my reg, took part to garage but it didn't fit, got another one using my REG from a Different place, arrived and did not fit! so i asked the garage to source and fit for me as i keep getting the wrong things.
on Saturday they got one in and it didn't fit, today another one has come in and guess what it don't fit, can someone please help me by giving me a part number or something i am at my wits end,

all I have been told is that the spline part that goes in to the hub is the wrong fit, they e-mail me this evening to say they have have order lots of the drive-shafts and to call them tomorrow lunch time hoping that they have found one that fits!!
fingers crossed

just got off the phone to the garage, still not getting the right parts, they are saying all the parts they have ordered don't fit, (to long) I really don't know what to do now, they are putting it back together now for me to take it at 5pm, I have never had such problem at all on the past with any car i have had, this is very strange, anyone out there can think of anything at all????
Kind Regards
Dom....

Goto peugeot....isnt that obvious to your garage or yourself???if youve had so much trouble pass the problem onto them...i would have done this after first wrong attempt...sorry if i sound smug but its the next best step.......

hi bezford and thanks for your input.
I understand that going to Peugeot is the easiest option but unfortunately im not made of money, I am trying to do it the cheapest way I can by getting advice from people that have been there and done it, So hopefully I can do it my self,
Regards

Im not suggesting that peugeot do the work...just use there proffesional knowledge to get the right part off them until they get it right...its your only option really and shouldnt cost too much over the odds...eventualy if they struggle to find the right part they will hopefully bite onto your problem and personally go on a mission to locate the correct part.......
Get them to get the part number off the car and just play dumb...they still want to make the sale so are keen to process your order from crawling under your car to ordering multiple types to compare them and send them back...

There is a weird length option for the BE box.
MA box has different splines though.
Check engine and gearbox mounts too.

That's unlucky, changing a gearbox for nothing! Have you had the hubs checked? I had one that had somehow got bent on mine, still don't know how it happened. I got vibrations at 55mph+

Is it not possible to change the hub???infact id be tempted to goto a scrappy and remove the entire assembly...hub.shaft.disc.nut.susspension arm...and refit the full assembly onto yours...it shouldnt be too expensive and for a bit extra they will take the assembly off for you...but make sure its gonna fit on the gearbox end...
If u havnt got the gearbox back from garage yet id get it to check the scrappied assembly and to sell the box seen as there's nothing wrong with it.
