XSi has a motorised throttle body doesn't it?
The code could point to the throttle position sensor being faulty. Is that fitted to the top of the pedal on these?

Yes it has a motor which opens the butterfly the cable from the pedal goes to just behind the battery and then a electrical cable runs to the throttle body I will look on top of the pedal when I get chance today

Some have the TPS on the pedal. There is an electrical connection at the top of it. If you don't have the plastic pedal I imagine you have a conventional throttle body. Is it an early XSi?
