Hi all,

Just installed a aftermarket Sony headunit to my 206, now whenever I turn the system up to a certain volume level or a certain amount of bass comes through the speakers the headunit turns itself off and then within seconds it comes back on?

Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated,

Thanks liam

It can't supply the required power you are asking of it, either because the supply is bad, or you have a bad earth zapping the power feed. Opens up a can of worms unfortunately. Also make sure you haven't got anything else running at the time, such as fan on full whack..

It wont necessarily be the wiring of the stereo. If you have a bad earth to something else, this will take the juice required. As I said, can of worms... Re trace your steps for anything you have installed, but also check connection for battery earth to chassis and the positive contacts. They may need a clean...

Hi, I think I've found the problem but I'm not sure how to fix it. The battery constant wire On the new Sony radio adapter has nothing going to it? Can anyone help me with the colour on the car that I need to swap?

Thanks

Looked on there all, wiring diagram forum just has 'in the handbook' I've already looked in the handbook. I don't know where I should put the battery constant to?

I've solved it Smile for anyone else that may encounter this problem I had to swap the ignition wire (red) with the yellow (battery constant) on the Sony ISO connector block I bought.

Took me less than 1 minute to find the answer in that section

A: You need to change the red and yellow wires around at the back of your head unit...

i had the same problem, apparently its a big problem with 206's. its just a case of swapping 2 wires over. it was bugging me for ages, then i just bought a new stereo, and told the guy at the audio shop what was happening and he fitted it and sorted it all out for me, French cars for ya! Razz

Its NOT a big problem with 206's, the problem is people not knowing what there doing when they start changing the car from factory spec.

The wiring info is in the owner's handbook that comes with the car from new & Peugeot / Citroen main dealer's even sell a ISO adaptor harness for aftermarket radio fitment.

Just don't know a massive amount about cars, that's why I asked for help yes I looked on there before but I couldn't see anything. I am new so don't know my way around the forum. But thanks to the helpful people that did offer some advice.
