Hi all, my 05 1.4 started leaking oil onto my drive. It doesn't happen too often, from what I can figure out it seems to leak more as temperature (weather) goes down. It's not a lot but its definitely leaking. I got under the car this morning and manged to get a picture.

It doesn't seem to leak from the top half of the engine as there are no visible leak signs. Rolling Eyes When I got under the car, the sump was covered in oil.

Any advice on what to check to identify the origin of the leak?

Thanks in advance,
Chris.

Is that the sump end of the oil filter attachment?

There's a couple of O ring seals located behind there.

My leaks too i replaced the rocker cover gasket cured the top leak but bottom leak was still there. On replacing the timing belt saw the camshaft oil seal was leaking slightly , so replaced that.
Mine is still leaking so i need to take cambelt back off and replace the crankshaft oil seal too.
If yours is leaking drivers side bottom, good chance it could be these seals too.

its not the crankshaft.... but the head leaking oil externally. Seems to be a common thing with the gasket failing from looking on the net.
