the brakes on my 180 are terrible so im after some 406 brembos does anybody know of any mods required to fit them ?cheers

You need 16mm spacers to install them on gti180 with stock wheels.

That's just reminded me of the conversation I had with an EBC rep last week, time for a freedom of information request to see if he was telling the truth on his claims Whistle...

Just get some new quality branded GTi 180 discs and pads.
2001 GTi 138, Bilstein Sprint dampers, H&R springs, 21mm Peugeot Sport torsion bars, 22mm rear ARB, Peugeot Sport Group A wishbones, 283mm discs, Goodridge stainless hoses, Maniflow 304 grade 4-2-1 2.5" manifold and system, 200 cell cat, Richard Longman head, 45mm Jenvey throttle bodies, 9.5mm TB spacers, 90mm air horns, Jenvey throttle linkage, Jenvey fuel rail, Aeromotive and Goodridge fuel fittings and braided hose, ITG sausage filter, Radtec custom radiator, Piper Ultimate Road cams, Piper vernier pulleys, Omex 600 ECU. Yeah, but they aren't going to improve the brake by 10 fold, they're just going to irritate every single human being you brake past because brembos aren't meant to be used with 283mm discs. The squeel they give off will make you want to rip them off in a matter of minutes.

MTEC Grooved and Drilled Discs and OMP Road & Sport Pads all round are what I'm running on my 180. Fantastic setup once warmed up and very little brake dust.

Just fit some decent disc & pads, the standard callipers are more then enough unless you drive around like a t**t.

Brembo discs & Ferodo Premier pads will easily do the job on a road car.
