Gearstick won't shift at 6k revs or has very high tension, it has to drop to 5k before it can shift in normally giving it a very slow gear change. Any suggestions what this can be? Thanks.

If you are changing at 6K I suspect that is a "racing" rushed type change. Are you certain that you aren't trying to move the lever before the pedal is fully depressed?

Other than that can't add to those above.

I don't thrash it to death, it is well looked after. I suspect mileage is getting high and problems are coming. It is at 107k. Engine oil is topped up, it is topped up every 2 to 3 months because unknown leak some where. Clutch is 18 months new. Other time when it does not shift in gear is in heavy traffic, slowly the clutch travel drops and the clutch gets closer to the ground . I am sure these 2 problems are linked somewhere.. I was told it could be slave cylinder?

I'm too afraid to take mine to 6K rpm incase the crankshaft flies-out and kills somebody.

Still, sounds like hydraulic system from the way you describe it.

Could be either master or slave. Could be low fluid level. Could be ancient fluid that just needs changing.
